Der Rothosen – Transfer window roundup

After yet another disappointing season, there wasn't much buzz surrounding HSV in the run up to the new Bundesliga season. The media and fans alike didn't expect much more than mid-table mediocrity but the board wanted better. A top half finish was the target and an outside push for an European spot was quietly being spoken about in the corridors of Volksparkstadion. We were definitely capable of securing a mid-table spot, but for Europe, we needed to chop and change a bit. We had a 5m budget and wanted to bring in a couple of Center backs, a full back and a midfielder which meant that we had to rise quite a bit of funds.
